Whole 30 day 27!

WOW!! Almost done! I wonder if the last few days will be the longest.  This past week felt like the longest week EVER!! Having 5 snow days was too much.

I woke up around 7:30.  I am feeling lazy so I just went and watched TV.

Breakfast- Egg Scramble: Red Potatoes & Scrambled Eggs

Snack- Muffin

Lunch- Chicken Breast

Snack- Blueberries

Dinner- Ground Turkey w/ cauliflower rice.  I used cumin as my main seasoning. It was just a mixture of what I had in the fridge!


Whole 30 day 26!

Another day!

I woke up around 8.  I had to make breakfast and be out of the house by 9:30 so I didn’t have time to run.

Breakfast- Egg scramble: red potatoes & scrambled eggs

snack- Muffin

Lunch- Salad with chicken

Snack- Muffin & Apple

Dinner- Salmon, Sweet potato, broccoli.

We decided to make dinner plans with friends we hadn’t seen in awhile.  Picking a “safe” place was hard, but we went with long horn.  I felt bad because I had to ask the waitress what I felt were ridiculous questions.  I had to make sure they had salmon non-marinated, which they did! I do think the broccoli had a little bit of butter, but I didn’t want to be too picky.

I felt great today.  One more week until the dress! then I will slowly start introducing foods back in and stick to a 80/20 plan!

Whole 30 day 25!

Snow day number 4.  Today needs to be extra productive!!! I do have class tonight at 5 so I need to stay focused!

Woke up a little after 7.  I had trouble sleeping last night and I think it was because I knew how much I had to get down around the house today.

I went right downstairs to workout! I was feeling a little weak, I think also a little hungry because I didn’t eat much yesterday.

I ran for 10 minutes.  Then I did an interval type workout.

  1. Bicep Curl 3 sets of 8 with 15 lbs. Super set with upright Row 3 sets of 8 with 15 lbs.  In between sets I did 30 second sprints at 8.5
  2. Tricep kickback 3 sets of 8 with 10 lbs.  Super set with tricep overhead 3 sets of 8 with 20 lbs.  In between sets I did 30 second sprints at 8.5
  3. Overhead shoulder press  3 sets of 8 with 10 lbs.  Super set with Bent over reverse fly  3 sets of 8 with 10 lbs.  In between sets I did 30 second sprints at 8.5
  4. I ended up doing 8 minutes of sprinting then 2 minutes of a cool down jog
  5. ABS! On a yoga ball: 10 regular, 5 each side, 10 regular crunches.  Super set with 1 minute plank.  I did that twice
  6. THEN I STRETCHED!  It was a solid workout!

Breakfast-  Egg scramble with homemade salsa.

Lunch- A small bowl of leftover soup with chicken baked with Tessemae’s South West Ranch sauce and veggies!

Snack- Carrots & Muffin.  I felt hungry today.  I want to keep eating snacks.

Snack- Handful of almonds

Dinner- Chicken marinated in cracked pepper, asparagus, half sweet potato.


For some reason I feel very hungry today.  I woke up feeling hungry and I have been hungry almost all day!  I am going to head to bed soon! Weekend starts tomorrow!

Whole 30 day 24!

Wow! Less than a week left!  It just feels so natural now! And I am really feeling great!  Another snow day, day 3.  Luckily I have errands to do this afternoon to get myself out of the house!!

I woke up around 8.  Went downstairs and ran first thing! I ran for about 30 minutes and walked for 5.  ( I am posting a day late and sadly I can’t remember what else I did 😦 ).  I need to do something to improve memory.

Breakfast- Egg scramble with home made salsa, Green smoothie: Kale, banana, peach, pineapple!

Lunch- Salad with tuna & a bowl of leftover soup

Snack- Almond & Cashew mix

Dinner- Carrots, leftover cauliflower rice with roasted broccoli, and chicken with Tessemae’s cracked pepper.  DELICIOUS!!

It felt good to get out of the house and feel human again.

Whole 30 day 23!

This snow caused another snow day.  However, I am not feeling the best.  Woke up with another sore throat and just kinda blah feeling.  Woke up a little after 8, which means I slept for almost 12 hours.

Breakfast- eggs w/ homemade salsa

Gym: I wanted to try and do some sort of workout today.  I did get a good sweat in! I ran 10 minutes and walked 5.  Then I did 3 sets of chest press with dumb bells and overhead extension (I think I am making that name up) with a 15 lb dumb bell.  In between sets I did a minute sprint at 8.5 mph.

I was definitely sweating by the end.  Not as much as I would have liked, but better than nothing.  My head was constantly pounding and I felt like I was doing “too much”.

Lunch- Bowl of homemade chicken and sweet potato soup.

Snack- Grapes

Dinner- Leftover chicken from the other night.  It was chicken with sweet onion & apple with Tessemae’s cracked pepper sauce.  We also had leftover cauliflower rice with roasted broccoli.  It was such a delicious meal!!

Whole 30 Day 22!

Day 22! I can see the light (aka cookies and pasta) at the end of the tunnel … just kidding!

Today was another snow day.  It was half productive, half lazy.  I woke up around 8.  I woke up with a sore throat and running nose.  I guess too much snow 😉 haha We ended up getting about 30 inches.

Breakfast-scrambled eggs with homemade salsa w/ green smoothie: kale, banana, pineapple & peaches!

Lunch- Leftover Soup! This is still so delicious, I will definitely have to make it again!

Snack- Banana and cashew butter shake.  My throat was feeling sore and I wanted something smooth and cold.  It was perfect!!

Dinner- Zucchini noodles with homemade meat sauce.  I had turkey meat sauce and James had a hamburger meat sauce.

I took some cold medicine and went to bed around 8.  I was really not feeling all too well.

Another day tomorrow!


Whole 30 day 21!

So after 21 days, habits are supposed to change! I honestly don’t think I have had too many withdrawal symptoms, which is okay, but also weird at the same time.  We will see how the next 10 ish days go!

I woke up around 7:30 this morning & went outside to shovel the deck.  That was a great 30 minute workout!

Breakfast- Eggs with sauteed red potatoes.

Lunch- Left over eggs and potatoes (I kept it easy!) But only ate a little, it was more of a snack!

Snack- Smoothie- Kale, banana, pineapple, peaches

I finally went down and did a good run! 30 minutes on the tredmil. My 5k was done in about 26:30.  It felt great to sweat!  Then I did 2 sets of 8 bicep curls with 10 lb dumb bells then 1 set of 10 with 15 lb dumb bells.  2 sets of 8 tricep curls with 10 lb dumb bells then 1 set of 10 with 15 lb dumb bell.  1 minute plank.  Just a quick workout, but it felt great!!

Dinner- I made a soup and it was delicious!!! I had 2 bowls! I followed this recipe: http://theartofcomfortbaking.blogspot.com/2014/12/crock-pot-rotisserie-chicken.html but I used chicken tenderloins instead of a whole chicken.  It was absolutely delicious!!

Snack- Muffin

I feel good, I am trying not to even think of challenges.  I don’t want to over think inches lost or weight lost.  I just want to enjoy the experience of clean eating.  We are still snowed in so tomorrow will be meal prep day with whatever is around the house!
